The team was willing to take risks and was not afraid of making mistakes. They changed ineffective methods.
Stephanas was aware that Jesus told His 72 workers not to waste time with people who were not spiritually open. If the workers’ message was rejected, they were to look for others who would welcome them. [1]
Paul was known to give wise counsel to church planters, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”[2]
Cross-cultural church planting can get discouraging, but Stephanas was often encouraged to continue forward by remembering what the Lord told Joshua. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” [3] [4]
