Situation 1 -- "Local Christian  wants us to stop evangelizing to prevent further opposition! There has been a lot of trouble raised here by a Buddhist Association.  They have come against a local Christian that has opened a children's home.  They tried to shut it down.  It's a long story and there are some cultural issues involved (The home is more Western and is getting lots of funding from West), but they are stirring up trouble for the Christians here.  The Christians are afraid to do anything and one guy we were working with some has told us to lay low for awhile.  He's opening a school himself and is a little afraid that his school might get taken from him or shut down.  The Christians have been told to stop evangelizing at all (though most of them haven't been - only this one guy and a couple of people working with him).  Now, I can't see stopping anywhere in Scripture, so we're thinking we should keep sharing as we are - discreetly, but still going out - and pay the price if it comes to that.  What do you think?"

Situation 3 -- "What do I teach new believers about tithing and New Testament giving, and then how those tithes and offerings are to be administered?  The new believers are starting to ask questions about money and with a couple of them I've talked about the principle of tithing.  Yet when I read the New Testament I see nothing about tithes but everything about giving.    In the past I have been taught that tithes go to support full-time church workers (like the Old Testament Levites) and expenses of the church (e.g. - Buying books that we need; picnics, etc!) Until now I have understood and practiced "tithing" in my own life as being the basic amount that we give to God -- 10% -- and "giving" as what we give in addition or on top of the tithe. Yet, in Acts 2:42 it talks about the believers having everything in common and selling their possessions to give to those in need.  In your experience and that of others you know, how did you handle the issue of money and tithing and giving in a New Testament way? Where did the money collected go?  What was it spent on and who decided that?"
