2. Obeying God’s voice and ALL his instructions. |
ALL churches planting churches in ALL of a population segment/UPG.1. Strategies to plant churches in ALL villages, city precincts etc of a region so ALL may hear and have chance to be in a fellowship.
2. Obedience to God is key to reproduction of churches, more than method. |
|
The Bible is the authority 1. God’s word the standard for life and ministry.
2. Obedience to the word of God is an evidence of Christ’s Lordship. |
The Bible is the authority  1. Ruthless dependency on Bible and Holy Spirit as all you need.
2. Obedience to the written word measure of maturity. (Avoid dependency on written materials, may slow down multiplication of churches, use Bible over other materials as much as possible) |
|
Anyone in YWAM can potentially start a ministry in any place.  1. Visionary – we release people to do new things in new ways to accomplish the Great Commission. 2. Every YWAMer can be involved in reproducing YWAM ministries and centres. 3. High value on pioneering new ministries. |
Just about anybody in a church can plant a church. Â 1. Every new believer to be given vision for reaching ALL of their population segment / UPG etc.
2. Every believer has a part in the reproduction of churches – not just a select few “professional” church planters. |
|
A family of ministries broad structured
and decentralized linked together by relationships. 1. Definition of a YWAM ministry is based on simple shared values and principles and applicable in all cultural settings. 2. The smallest operating location is genuine YWAM. Size, organizational structure and buildings are not an issue. 3. A family of global ministries with minimum need for rules and structures focused on world evangelism. 4. Reproduces / grows along apostolic lines, one YWAM ministry plants another and so on. YWAM doesn’t grow / start new centres from a central command. |
A network of home based churches linked
by relationship and mutual respect. 1. Definition of a church based on biblical minimum description – is a key factor in rapid reproduction of churches. Outside foreign cultural maximum definitions of church to be avoided. 2. A small number of people is a genuine church. |
|
Training for multiplication of ministry 1. Learning and doing.
2. Doing then teaching. 3. On the job training of trainers. “People like doing a DTS because it helps them walk in obedience to God”. |
Training for multiplication of churches1. Train / teach for obedience to God’s word, not teaching to know. Teach for reproduction of churches / addressing the problem of lost-ness. 2. Deliberate strategies for on the job training of trainers. Up close personal training not formal. 3. Training of trainers a key to reproduction of churches, disciples, leaders. 4. Avoid dependency on outside written training materials – let the locals develop it. |
|
Every YWAM ministry and centre can train.1. Every ministry can start its own training schools.
2. Every YWAMer encouraged to “have a go” at teaching and training others. |
Every believer’s home a training centre 1. Every home-based church can train others. 2. Avoid formal meeting places for training; use homes and low profile convenient places. 3. Attempt to involve all believes in the process of training others. |
|
Can start new ministries “quickly”.”Releasing ministries for world evangelism”.
|
Rapid reproduction of churches. Urgency to plant churches because of the lost-ness of people.
|
|
Self Funded leaders
1. Leaders operate the same as the staff member, all self funded. |
Self Funded leaders 1. Unpaid bi-vocational leaders. 2. No outside funding for leaders. |
|
Ministry funding according to context 1. YWAM ministries multiply according to own resourcefulness.
2. The YWAM ministries find own funds and resources according to context. 3. No central funding or handouts. |
Ministry funding according to context 1. Churches depend largely on local resources to minister and multiply new churches.
2. All ministry models must be multiplyable by the next generation churches within own resources context. 3. No handouts from central funds, avoidance of dependency on outside funds a critical factor in reproducing churches rapidly. |
|
Prayer is YWAMs’ greatest resource1. Individuals encouraged to hear the voice of God and obey.
2. Intercession for the nations a key foundation. |
Prayer as greatest resource in multiplication of churches1. All believers involved in prayer for rapid reproduction of churches. 2. Urgency to reach the lost fuels prayer. |
|
World Evangelism1. Use new things in new ways for evangelism.
|
Abundant Gospel sowing1. Ask “What needs to be done” not “What I can do just on my own”. 2. Aim for coverage of an area to address the problem of lost-ness. 3. All believers taught (even from pre-conversion evangelism stage) to carry the message. |
|
Anyone can emerge as leader1. All staff treated as having leadership potential.
2. Leaders largely developed “on the job”. 3. Leadership definition based on serving and responsibility not knowledge and titles. 4. Leadership teams provide balance of gifts, not single leader centric ministries. |
Unpaid bi-vocational local leaders1. All church members treated as having leadership potential, not just a select few.
2. Leaders emerge from the group, trained on the job – no full-timers. Multiple leaders trained at one time. 3. Leader definition based on serving and responsibility and aimed at reproduction of churches not just converts. 4. Plurality of leaders at all times. Leaders raised and trained by successive generations. Avoid dependency on need for formal training away from location. 5. No outside trained leaders brought in to run churches. Use only locals. |
|
Recognize leadership potential by those who:1. Have sound biblical character and vision.
2. Maintain good relationships. 3. Take responsibility. 4. Leadership merit not based on length of time in YWAM. |

2. Have vision to reproduce churches. 3. Not based on length of time in a church but on obedience. |
|
Modeling1. Live it before passing it on to others.
2. What YWAM is, is largely caught not taught. DTS is not a program, is mostly others imparting to another’s life. |
Model, Assist, Watch and Leave – M.A.W.L1. Model “minimum definition†of kingdom life – so others can rapidly reproduce the same. (avoid extra biblical/outside cultural practices) 2. Model what a leader is and does. 3. Model obedience to Scripture. |
