Church Planting Movement

1. Go to all nations, disciple ALL nations. Strategies to plant YWAM ministries in all nations.
2. Obeying God’s voice and ALL his instructions.

1. Strategies to plant churches in ALL villages, city precincts etc of a region so ALL may hear and have chance to be in a fellowship.
2. Obedience to God is key to reproduction of churches, more than method.

1. God’s word the standard for life and ministry.
2. Obedience to the word of God is an evidence of Christ’s Lordship.

1. Ruthless dependency on Bible and Holy Spirit as all you need.
2. Obedience to the written word measure of maturity.
(Avoid dependency on written materials, may slow down multiplication of churches, use Bible over other materials as much as possible)

1. Every new believer to be given vision for reaching ALL of their population segment / UPG etc.
2. Every believer has a part in the reproduction of churches – not just a select few “professional” church planters.

1. Definition of a YWAM ministry is based on simple shared values and principles and applicable in all cultural settings.
2. The smallest operating location is genuine YWAM. Size, organizational structure and buildings are not an issue.
3. A family of global ministries with minimum need for rules and structures focused on world evangelism.
4. Reproduces / grows along apostolic lines, one YWAM ministry plants another and so on. YWAM doesn’t grow / start new centres from a central command.

1. Definition of a church based on biblical minimum description – is a key factor in rapid reproduction of churches. Outside foreign cultural maximum definitions of church to be avoided.
2. A small number of people is a genuine church.
A family plus a few others. No need for special buildings to meet in, to be authentic church.
3. A network of churches that cooperates for the purpose of reaching ALL villages etc in a population segment.
4. No head church or centre that does all the church planting – each church to plant others.
5. Chains of churches. Churches planting churches and reproducing after their own kind.

1. Learning and doing.
2. Doing then teaching.
3. On the job training of trainers.

“People like doing a DTS because it helps them walk in obedience to God”.

1. Every ministry can start its own training schools.
2. Every YWAMer encouraged to “have a go” at teaching and training others.

1. YWAM ministries multiply according to own resourcefulness.
2. The YWAM ministries find own funds and resources according to context.
3. No central funding or handouts.

1. Churches depend largely on local resources to minister and multiply new churches.
2. All ministry models must be multipliable by the next generation churches within own resources context.
3. No handouts from central funds, avoidance of dependency on outside funds a critical factor in reproducing churches rapidly.

1. Individuals encouraged to hear the voice of God and obey.
2. Intercession for the nations a key foundation.

1. Use new things in new ways for evangelism.

1. All staff treated as having leadership potential.
2. Leaders largely developed “on the job”.
3. Leadership definition based on serving and responsibility not knowledge and titles.
4. Leadership teams provide balance of gifts, not single leader centric ministries.

1. All church members treated as having leadership potential, not just a select few.
2. Leaders emerge from the group, trained on the job – no full-timers. Multiple leaders trained at one time.
3. Leader definition based on serving and responsibility and aimed at reproduction of churches not just converts.
4. Plurality of leaders at all times. Leaders raised and trained by successive generations.
Avoid dependency on need for formal training away from location.
5. No outside trained leaders brought in to run churches. Use only locals.

1. Have sound biblical character and vision.
2. Maintain good relationships.
3. Take responsibility.
4. Leadership merit not based on length of time in YWAM.

1. Display immediate and ongoing obedience to God’s word.
2. Have vision to reproduce churches.
3. Not based on length of time in a church but on obedience.

1. Live it before passing it on to others.
2. What YWAM is, is largely caught not taught.

DTS is not a program, is mostly others imparting to another’s life.
